With a large number of applications the User encounters a problem of their quick launch. The desktop is overloaded with all sorts of icons and the User has to waste time looking for the necessary program in the menu. Enterra Icon Keeper Deluxe is an elegant solution to the problem. By creating several profiles the User eliminates time-consuming searches for the software needed and unloads the desktop.
Profile creation and changes require minimum activity from the User with only a few mouse clicks. Shifting between profiles is also reduced to a couple of clicks. The User can create profiles by any condition arranging icons for example by type (Office applications, Graphics, Software Development, Games etc). One thing important is that icons of frequently used programs can be distributed through several profiles at the same time reducing the need of switching between the profiles. For different screen resolutions icons positions are stored separately providing for optimal use of available desktop space i.e. each resolution setting has its own set of profiles. If a PC is being operated by several users they can also define their personal settings.
Icon Keeper Deluxe also provides for instant recovery of icons positions on the desktop when they are randomly piled. When launching full screen mode applications (games as a rule) that switch current screen resolution at startup and restore previous resolution upon exit. The same effect can be observed when starting Windows in the safe mode. This trouble can not be resolved by standard tools of the OS. Once Icon Keeper is installed the trouble disappears.
Management is implemented via desktop context menu where "Enterra Icon Keeper" item is added containing the following commands:
Select Active Profile. Opens drop-down sub-menu with the list of current profiles allowing for fast switch to any of them. The profile selected is activated on the fly. The current profile is ticked off.
Create Profile.Provides for creation of a new profile. The User simply marks the icons to be included into the profile. Upon the program installation the profile is automatically created containing all the icons from the desktop.
To change the profile name and set of icons is feasible at any moment through Edit Active Profile command. These and other actions are always valid for an active profile.
To delete the profile no longer required by the User one can execute by Delete Active Profile command. Thus another profile will be activated (as a rule first in the list). The User can not delete all the profiles because there should be at least one active profile available.
Once the set of icons is indicated and the User defined icons positions on the desktop the profile can be saved with Save Active Profile command. The profile can be also saved from the window providing setting options for the icons displayed. The command is helpful when changing icons positions on the desktop.
Save Active Profile As command allows saving the current profile under a new name. This is helpful when the User wants to create a profile based on existing one and a mere correction is required not to waste time on complete profile set up from the beginning.
Profile Setup Wizard displaying the list of icons contains Transparency slider adjusting the window transparency. The User can view the entire desktop including the area under the Wizard window.
Should icons positions get out of order after exiting a full-screen program or the User accidentally disturbed positions, Restore Icon Positions command will easily restore the order.
Restore Startup Icon Positions command gets back to icons positions for the moment the system is loaded.
Enterra Icon Keeper doesn't consume memory and CPU resources. The utility is user-friendly and can be easily setup allowing the User to save time spent on conventional operations in Windows.
